What was the name of the cartoon short where everything was literal?

I remember a cartoon from when I was younger. It was like a short, maybe MGM type of rerun. It was of a guy, and everything he said ended up happening, or was real. Like if a man was feeling blue, he'd be the color blue.

What was the name of the cartoon short where everything was literal?
