With any breed the girls tend to be more easier than boys. And with the Cavalier breed girls love you but the boys are IN love with you. I found that the girls tend to be more independent and the boys are more bonded to you. The boys tend to suffer from separation anxiety more than the girls. As far as affection goes they are both the same in that respect. From my experience i prefer the females only because the boys when they pee they tend to urinate on their skirt and front legs so they tend to smell like urine most of the time.

Just a word of advice make sure you find a good reputable breeder that does genetic health testing on their dogs and are involved in showing there dogs in AKC conformation. Always keep this in mind. "Quality is expensive. It's priceless."

As far as color goes just get what you like. Color has nothing to do with the dogs temperament. Always chose a dog for it's temperament first and coloring second.

As far as a name. Just get the dog first. get to know it's personality then the name will come to you.

My dogs names are...

Princess Mia (after the Princess Diaries)

Bailey

Sparky

Brinkley

Princeton

Ladybug
Reply:Color should be the last thing on your mind. Personality and energy level of the dog are. Name it whatever you want to name it. I am more found of male dogs over females but that's my personal preference.
