What is the name of the elevating restaurant in Cape Town South Africa?

I am going to Cape Town and a family member tells me i have to go to this restaurant but didnt remember the name.

If anyone does know this place, would you recommend it?

Do you perhaps mean to say rotating restaurant? If so you are probably referring to the Top of the Ritz Restaurant. It is one of Cape Town's show pieces - sure I would recommend it. It isn't cheap but it sure is good as well as an interesting way to spend a dinner hour or two. The link below will give you a bit of info. Sorry but I could not find a really good site for just the restaurant. You might try googling "Top of the Ritz Restaurant". You might find something better than the one I have added.

Reply:It is indeed the Ritz:

Reply:You can only mean the Ritz I think, with its rotating restaurant in Sea Point.

To be honest, I would not go out of my way to go there. Sure it's got an elevated view but so have many other places and they are nicer and with better food. Last time we went there my lasting impression was 'shabby and stuffy'.

For awesome views try the Blowfish in Blouberg. Or Bloemhof in Durbanville. Or the Twelve Apostles (swanky and pricey but wonderful views). Or Harbour House in Kalk Bay.... or.. or...or

Lots of options. But not the Ritz (IMO)
