What is the name of the large horses used in Albuquerque NM by the mounted police?

Do you have a picture?

Edit:You can call or write this place with questions. They probably don't use a certain breed.

Alot of Mounted Police use Morgan or draft horses. Without a picture it's hard to say. I live in NM, about 3.5 hours from Albuquerque actually. :-)
Reply:Maybe Shire/Thoroughbred or some kind of Warmblood or light horse/ heavy horse cross.
Reply:Found a photo; one looked like a draft/quarter horse...others looked like QH, interesting in the photos I saw most looked black or a very dark bay....
Reply:a shire horse ones on the farm
Reply:Hi, I just called them, they use Shires.
Reply:Most police horses are Warmbloods/Warmblood crosses or other large sturdy mixed breeds, although it's being bombproof, exceedingly well-trained and calm which are the most valued qualities when recruiting a horse for mounted police work, rather than breed. Are the ones in Albuquerque well-known for being a special breed? A picture would help in identification if so.
Reply:ya, i agree with the people above!!

we really need a pic to tell u wat kind of horse they are!! please try to get a pic!!

thanx soo much!!
