What is the name of the two gun manufactures who received these contracts?

In August of 1991 two major gun manufacturers were given contracts with the US Special Operations Command for the development of an offensive handgun weapon system or OHWS. The OHWS had to consist of a .45 cal. pistol, a laser aiming module and a suppressor. What is the name of the two gun manufactures who received these contracts?

Probably Glock and Colt. I could have also been Kimber, bacuse they make a lot of government handguns for tactical use.
Reply:i did hear of some french comany like steyer or stenh producing .45 cal pistols fo the army, my dad tells me they're looking to replace the m9
Reply:the SOCOM pistol was made by HK (Hecklor and Koch) and i think that is what you are refering too. Go in Christ
Reply:Probably Mattel or Colt. Mattel got it during VietNam so I figure they may have gotten it again.

Then too it could be Remington Arms and Colt.
Reply:The only one I am aware of is the HK USP .45
