What is the name of the part that the lighter is in not the lighter itself?

Everytime I push my lighter in,it blows a fuse and it's the same one everytime.I thru the lighter itself away but kept the other part,need to know what the name of that part is so I can get it,tire of blowing fuses.

What is the name of the part that the lighter is in not the lighter itself?

your talking about a car (non) lighter? Just buy a whole new one altogether...they don't cost very much...
Reply:I don't know what it is called, but i lost the lighter portion of mine and was able to go to an auto parts store and buy the whole assembly. It is pretty easy to install if you can get the dash cover off.
Reply:The element, but it's about as cheap to replace the whole lighter and be done with it.





By the way, use a good light and look in the receptacle for any foreign object that would cause a short.
